I've been building websites since 2009. Out of fascination, not obligation.

How it started

I built my first website in 2009. Honestly, it was awful. But it hooked me: the fascination of building something out of nothing, and the wish to learn how to do it well. So I kept refining it, again and again, until it finally looked the way it should.

What I learned along the way

More serious work followed: a database for a recruitment company, several websites for clients, then designs for Facebook pages and everything else that makes up a business's presence online. Every project taught me something new.

The WordPress years

Like many in this field, I ended up with WordPress. And with it came the stress: every plugin update meant crossing my fingers that the site wouldn't break. Often it did. Keeping up was a nightmare, for me and for my clients.

That's why I work differently today: hand-written websites without plugins, which don't fall apart at the next update and load instantly on a phone.

Close to my clients, literally

Over the years I was invited abroad several times by the companies whose online presence or brand I was building. I wanted to feel the place, meet the people and see how they work, not just read a brief. That's where my languages really paid off: I speak Romanian, Hungarian, English, German and a little Italian.

What remains

What remains is pure pleasure: designing, coordinating and creating freely. And surprising my clients. Seeing the happiness and satisfaction on their faces when they see their site for the first time is the best reward I know.

And I'm a perfectionist, happily so. In summer I work on my laptop in the garden, in winter in front of the fireplace, and both give me a feeling of home and of being sheltered, what Germans call Geborgenheit. That's where every site I build begins.
