Local SEO and Google Business Profile

When people search for what you do, are you on the map?

For searches like “cake shop Timișoara” or “electrician Graz”, Google shows the map with three businesses first. Whoever is there gets the calls.

Your Google Business Profile is free, but most are only half filled in: wrong category, no services, three old photos and unanswered reviews. Google puts on the map the businesses it understands best and that people trust most. That is exactly what I fix.

What matters for Google Maps

Relevance: the right primary category, secondary categories, services and a description using the words your customers search for.

Trust: real reviews you reply to, current photos, correct opening hours and the same details (name, address, phone) on your website and in directories.

You can't change distance, but you can change the other two. Together with a fast website that clearly names your town and services, Google has everything it needs.

What's included

Claiming and verification

I help you claim or create the profile and get through Google's verification.

Categories and services

The right primary category, secondary categories and every service with a description.

Keyword-rich description

A natural description using the terms people in your area search for.

Photos and first posts

Good photos of your business, team and products, plus the first 4 posts.

QR card for reviews

A card with a QR code and short link, so happy customers can review you in a minute.

Matched with your website

Website and profile say the same thing, with structured data for Google and AI assistants.

Example: a guesthouse in the Arad wine country

A typical example, not a specific client: a small guesthouse in the hills east of Arad, run by a couple from abroad. Most guests find it on Google Maps. There was a profile Google had created on its own, unclaimed, pinned a few hundred metres from the real gate, with no photos of the rooms.

First, claiming and verification, and moving the pin to the real gate. Then the decisions: primary category “Guest house”, the services listed one by one (rooms, breakfast, wine tastings by arrangement), check-in times instead of shop hours, and a plain description of where it is and who it suits. Contact details match the website exactly.

Photos of the rooms, the terrace and the view, the first 4 posts, and the QR card left in every room for reviews. Cost: €199, fixed, one-off. If you also want a website, the Premium package at €2,990 includes the Google profile. The profile itself is free from Google.

5 mistakes that cost you customers on Google Maps

The wrong primary category

The primary category is Google's strongest signal. A cake shop listed as “Bakery” or a plumber listed as “Construction company” shows up for the wrong searches. Pick the most precise category for your main business and add the rest as secondary categories.

Keywords in the business name

“Anna's Bakery Best Cakes Vienna Cheap” looks tempting, but Google's rules ask for your real business name, the one on your sign and paperwork. Profiles with stuffed names can be suspended. Keywords belong in your services and description, not in your name.

Different details in different places

One phone number on your website, another on Facebook, an old address on Google. Neither Google nor your customers know which is right. Name, address and phone must be identical everywhere, spelled the same way.

Old opening hours and forgotten holidays

Few things annoy people more than a locked door after Google said “open”. Set special hours for holidays in advance and check your profile every time your hours change.

Unanswered reviews

A negative review with no reply looks like you don't care. Answer calmly, briefly and to the point, and thank people for the good ones too. Never offer discounts for reviews: Google bans that and can remove them.

Frequently asked questions

Do you guarantee the top spot on the map?

No, and nobody can honestly guarantee that. Google decides. What I can do is make sure everything that matters is complete and correct, so you have the best chance.

Do I also need a website?

Not necessarily, but it helps a lot. A fast website with your town and services strengthens the profile and brings customers from regular search too.

How do I get more reviews?

By asking, simply and right after a good sale. The QR card and ready-made message make that easy. Fake or bought reviews are banned by Google, and I don't work with them.

I already have a profile. Is it worth it?

Usually yes. Most existing profiles have the wrong category or missing services.

Whose Google account does the profile belong to?

Yours. I get manager access while I work and you can remove me at any time afterwards. The profile, photos and reviews stay yours, just like your website and texts once paid in full.

I visit customers and have no shop. Can I have a profile?

Yes. Google allows profiles for service-area businesses such as plumbers and electricians. Your home address can be hidden, and the map shows the area you cover instead, for example Graz and the surrounding towns.

How long does Google's verification take?

That's up to Google. Sometimes it's instant, sometimes they ask for a short video of your business or post a code by mail. I help at each step and fill in the profile in parallel, so everything is ready the moment verification goes through.
