Outside Bucharest, most Romanian businesses are small and local: cake shops, salons, dental practices, guesthouses, car repair shops and tradespeople. At the same time, cities like Cluj, Timișoara, Iași and Brașov have large numbers of international students, expats and visitors who search in English. A Romanian-only Facebook page reaches neither group well: it ranks poorly on Google and nobody owns it but the platform. The first screen shows the house, the price per night and a button to ask for a date, without a booking portal in between. Each room has photos, what is included and the price by season. A short page explains how to get there from the nearest airport and what to see within an hour's drive. Romanian and English versions each have their own addresses, so Google shows the right one. The Google profile carries the same photos, check-in times and guest reviews.
What works for small businesses in Romania
In most Romanian towns the map decides. Someone types the trade and the town, Google shows three businesses on a map, and the phone rings at one of them. Getting into those three is less about clever tricks than about basics done properly: a claimed and complete Google Business Profile with the right categories, real photos and current opening hours, a website that loads quickly on a phone, and texts that use the words customers actually type. Many businesses skip these steps, so doing them well goes a long way.
Language is the second lever. Western Romania has large Hungarian- and German-speaking communities, university cities are full of international students, and guesthouses in Transylvania or the Danube Delta host visitors from all over Europe. Each language version of a site gets its own addresses, so Google can show Romanian to locals and English or German to visitors. Reviews matter in every language: a direct link to your review form, sent to happy customers by WhatsApp, is the simplest way to collect them.

Do you work with foreign-owned businesses in Romania?
Yes. Many of my conversations are in English or German with owners who run a business in Romania. Texts for your Romanian customers are written in natural Romanian, not translated by a program.
Which Romanian cities do you cover?
