Fast website, PageSpeed 90+

Every second of waiting costs you customers.

On a phone, nobody waits. If your site doesn't appear in two or three seconds, people tap back and call a competitor.

Google PageSpeed Insights scores how fast a page loads on a phone, from 0 to 100. Above 90 is green. Many small-business websites score 30 or 40: heavy themes, dozens of plugins, 5 MB photos. Every site I build launches at 90 or more on mobile, guaranteed in writing.

Why speed matters

Because visitors leave. The longer a page takes, the more people close it before seeing anything. On mobile data, in a car or in a queue the gap is even bigger.

Because Google counts it. Mobile speed (Core Web Vitals) is one of the signals Google ranks by. Of two equally good sites, the faster one ranks higher.

And because ads get cheaper. Google Ads and Meta reward fast landing pages, and every click you pay for actually reaches the page.

How we get to 90+

Hand-written code

No heavy themes, no plugins. The page carries only what it needs.

Optimised images

WebP format, the right size for every screen, loaded only when they come into view.

No needless scripts

No external fonts or scripts loaded for nothing. Visitor stats only if you want them, and only after consent.

Fast hosting

Cached servers with CDN, SSL certificate, compression.

Measured, not promised

At handover I show you the PageSpeed score. You can check it yourself any time.

For your current site too

I also speed up sites built by others, where the technology allows.

Example: a slow website for an English-speaking clinic abroad

An illustrative example, not a real client. A small private clinic serving expats has run a WordPress site for years. On their phones, patients stare at a blank screen for a long time. PageSpeed shows a red mobile score. Typical causes: a slider with multi-MB photos, a theme full of unused features, and chat and booking plugins loading on every page.

The first step is the audit. If the theme allows it, optimisation costs €199: photos become WebP at the right size, the slider becomes one image, the chat loads only on click, unused plugins go, and caching is switched on. The design stays the way patients know it.

If the theme is too heavy to reach 90, I say so before you pay anything. Then the honest answer is a new hand-written site: Start from €1,490, or Premium from €2,990 for several pages, with PageSpeed 90+ at launch guaranteed in writing and a test report at handover.

How we work

1. Measure

I run PageSpeed on your site and send you the score and the causes.

2. Be honest

If the site (say a heavy WordPress theme) can't reach 90, I tell you before you pay.

3. Optimise

Images, code, scripts, caching, up to the agreed target.

4. You check

Run the test yourself and see the new score.

5 mistakes that slow your website down

Uploading photos straight from your phone

A phone photo is often 3-6 MB and over 4,000 pixels wide. The site shows it at 800, yet the visitor's phone downloads the whole file. Resize images before uploading and use WebP: they look the same and weigh a fraction of the original.

A plugin for every problem

Every plugin adds code, styles and often scripts to every page, even where it isn't used. Ten small plugins add up to one heavy page. Before you install another, ask whether you really need it, and delete the ones you no longer use.

Testing only on your computer

On office Wi-Fi and a fast machine, almost any site feels quick. Your customers open it on a phone, on mobile data. In PageSpeed Insights look at the "Mobile" tab, not "Desktop". That's what customers actually experience.

A slider or video at the top

A five-image slider or an autoplaying video loads a lot before the visitor sees the first sentence. Most people never reach the third slide anyway. One good photo and a clear headline say the same thing, much faster.

Third-party widgets on every page

Chat, Facebook feed, Google map, external fonts, tracking codes: each comes from another server. Load them only where needed, or only on click. Tracking also needs the visitor's consent first under GDPR.

Frequently asked questions

What does PageSpeed 90+ mean?

A green score of at least 90 out of 100 in Google PageSpeed Insights, on mobile, at launch. If it falls short, I optimise for free until it gets there.

How do I check my site?

Go to pagespeed.web.dev, enter your address and click "Analyze". Look at the mobile score.

Can you make a WordPress site fast?

Sometimes. It depends on the theme and plugins. After the audit I tell you whether it's worth it or whether a new site is cheaper in the long run.

Can the score change?

Yes, a little, from test to test. What matters is that it stays in the green.

Why is my site fast on my own computer?

Because your browser has opened it before and stored many files, and your computer and Wi-Fi are faster than a phone on mobile data. That's why I always measure the mobile score, not desktop.

Will a fast site get me to number one on Google?

No, and nobody can honestly guarantee that. Speed is one signal among many: content, your Google profile, reviews, distance to the searcher. A fast site simply stops losing visitors on the way.

Can I find out for free how fast my site is?

Yes. You can run the test yourself at pagespeed.web.dev. Or send me your address and within 24 working hours you get a short PDF: speed on a phone, how you appear on Google Maps and in search, and 3 concrete things to fix.
